Biography: Dr. Pike graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2003.  After graduation, she was commissioned as a Captain into the United States Army Veterinary Corps. It was dealing with the Military Working Dogs that spurred her initial interest in behavior medicine. After getting off of active duty in 2006, Dr. Pike worked exclusively in small animal practice where she furthered her love of behavior medicine by seeing cases and teaching puppy socialization classes. In 2011, the Pike family was stationed in the St. Louis area at Scott Air Force Base where Dr. Pike started seeing behavior referrals in a Residency program officially approved by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (ACVB) under the mentorship of Dr. Debra Horwitz, DACVB. In October 2015, Dr. Pike passed the ACVB certifying examination, officially becoming a boarded veterinary behaviorist. Dr. Pike is the owner of Veterinary Behavior Solutions in Louisville, Kentucky where she sees referral behavior cases. Dr. Pike is a member of the Fear Free Advisory Committee, advising general practitioners on the art of practicing “Fear Free”. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family, including her Active Duty Army husband, their two kids, ages 2 and 7, a Scottie, a Mini Schnauzer, a Devon Rex kitten, and an African Ring Neck Parrot.

Sadly, Chris passed away in August of 2024. The dog world was a better place because of Chris. I know you are reunited with all of your dogs and in a better place. Peace my friend.

Chris Redenbach CDBC, CBCC-KA is a dog behavior consultant, trainer and breeder/competitor with her Bouviers des Flandres. She currently runs a business called The Balanced Dog in the Atlanta, GA area. She also serves as chair of the Dog Division for the IAABC. Chris started training dogs in 1971 with a personal protection German Shepherd from police dog bloodlines given to her by her parents to protect her in her college apartment. She worked with that dog’s police trainer to complete the training. It was her first introduction to working dogs and their practical training and she was hooked. A few years later she decided to breed and train working dogs at her new home in Brazil where she was mentored by talented trainers from Brazil, Argentina and South Africa. She chose the Bouvier des Flandres, a breed who at the time, had a wonderful reputation for being almost entirely free of genetic problems and having a very balanced temperament and wide variety of traditional tasks for a farm dog and protector. She has since that time in 1978, been an avid supporter of keeping working dogs capable of their ancestral tasks. Her Arion dogs boast the most titled herding Bouvier in history, a variety of titles in various protection sports,  two FEMA certified search and rescue dogs, some therapy dogs, obedience titled dogs and beloved companions. Chris competes in French Ring Sport with her Bouviers.

The late, and much missed, Susan Sharpe was one of two of E-Training for Dogs’ first Instructors. She passed away to join her dogs on the Rainbow Bridge in October of 2013. She was the founder, co-owner and head instructor for Canine Companion by Certified Trainers. She brought to her classes over 20 years of experience in dog training. Her background included obedience, article search, tracking, obstacle course, drug detection, personal protection, and family pet manners. While alive, Susan offered group classes, private instruction, and behavior modification from minor issues, such as unwanted barking, through more severe behaviors including separation anxiety and aggression. She instructed therapy dog courses and trained service dogs for individuals. She was also an instructor for the American Red Cross (#12642), including being an instructor for emergency pet first aid. She was a graduate of the Purdue University DOGS! course, a certified Tellington Touch CA-1 practitioner and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer with the CCPDT. Susan was an evaluator for Therapy Dog Inc. as well as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator for the AKC (#8968). She was also the developer of the famous Anxiety Wrap. At E-Training for Dogs, Susan authored the following courses: Learning Theory, Basic Dog Training Skills and Theory Using Positive Methods, Housetraining Your Puppy, Basic Puppy Training Skills and Theory Using Positive Methods, Canine Good Citizen, Personal Assistance Dog, Therapy Dog Training, How to END Problem Behaviors, and several short basic dog behavior webinars. You are missed Sus.

Peggy Swager graduated in 1978 with a BS in Biology with a minor in education. The degree includes several classes in psychology. She also took a class called Animal Ecology which included field studies as well as information on the handling of animals at the Denver Zoo.

In her early years, Peggy honed her skills by working with horses who had moderate to severe behavioral issues.  This included horses who had herd bound issues-the equine equivalent of separation anxiety in dogs. She had three articles published in popular horse magazines which addressed how changes in training techniques could be valuable to horse behavior. Peggy reduced her work with animals for several years while raising a family. About twenty years ago, she once again ventured into the business by working with problematic dogs. Peggy taught dog classes including puppy class, agility, and obedience. She has shown in obedience and agility. She has worked with a variety of dogs to resolve behavior issues. Over the years, Peggy has developed several techniques to help resolve separation anxiety in dogs, including mill dog rescues and other shelter dogs. Peggy teaches the very popular course: Solving Separation Anxiety in Dogs; Solving House Training Issues; Lessons in Fear and Aggression in Dogs: Desensitization; Lessons in Fear and Aggression in Dogs: Conditioned Fear Responses, Out of Control Dogs

Rachel is a Registered Veterinary Technician with a BSc in Wildlife Biology.  She volunteers at Dogs in the Park assisting and teaching in the Levels, Puppy and Behavioural programs. She shares her life with 2 dogs Luna and Muskoka.  Luna is the loveable Lab mix who graduated from tech school with Rachel. When Luna’s not chasing bunnies, getting stuck in the woods or rolling in something smelly she entertains Rachel with her cuddliness and funny antics while learning new things. Muskoka is Rachel’s senior Golden Retriever who loves fetching and retrieving for hours. She may not be as quick as Luna to learn new things, but she doesn’t think it’s fair when Luna is having a training session and she is not!
