I did take the exam, and I passed with a good score. I felt that the course helped me solidify information that I had studied in previous years, and the practice questions and discussion in the Facebook group were invaluable. As time went on I began to treat the online course material more as a reference, relying on the Facebook group for my actual preparation. I did take the quizzes online, actually did that before any course work to get a sense of where I stood. After that I went through the coursework, and expect to return to the pdfs in the future to refresh my memory. The thing that stuck out for me most of all, though, was that before the course I understood the Humane Hierarchy to be a philosophy of training with which I agreed. After the course I saw how it serves as a structure to guide any behavior modification protocols, beginning with health and management before moving into the sequence of training. It’s been very helpful, and makes what we do very accessible to clients. Marnie Montgomery, CPDT-KA
The reason I passed the exam
I would be happy to comment on the course since it is the reason I passed the exam. I passed not just because of the excellent and accurate content prepared for us but also the superb delivery by Catherine Steinke. It was this combination, along with Catherine’s patience and consistency, that made the learning fun yet challenging. So to answer your questions: 1.) Yes I did take the test this March, 2015. Yes I did pass (235/250) the exam. 2.) In addition to the above testimonial, I would want to add that the Facebook questions were extremely valuable. The method was to challenge you on content, as well as, for us to pay attention as to “WHAT” was really being asked in the question. Plus, the opportunity to discuss any of these questions (some seemed controversial-great stuff) or concepts in detail during the Webcast. As a life-long learner, I found the collaboration and teamwork from all the students, instructor and staff made for a great, successful and fun experience. Jeff Joyce, CPDT-KA
I could not have done this without your course!
I was so grateful to be able to ask questions during the phone webinars and to be able to email you with specific questions. Your wisdom and encouragement were invaluable. Thank you, Linda Hudson
Worth its weight in gold!
I did the e-Training for Dogs, Inc.’s – “CPDT-KA Fundamentals” course in 2014 when I studying for the CCPDT exam. I saw other options but decided on this course since it covered all 6 domains of the exam – Instructional Skills, Animal Husbandry, Ethology, Learning Science, Training & Management Equipment, Professional Practices & Ethics. There are 7 lessons with two live web chats with the instructor, with a quiz at the end of each lesson, with a final exam at the end of the course. As part of this course is the fantastic closed study group for Students on Facebook. In the Facebook Group, Students can ask questions ranging from the Training Log and applying to take the exam, to what is needed on the day of the exam, and so much more. Questions are posted by the Instructor, the Students give their answers, then the correct answer is posted giving the reasons why. If Students don’t quite get it, don’t understand, it’s explained again. It really is a wonderful community there who support, help, encourage, cheer and celebrate with each other. What is also great is that past Students still are part of this Facebook Group even after they finish the Course and the exam. I am still there, asking questions, giving advise. This Course is really worth it’s weight in gold and I highly recommend it!! Lisa White CPDT-KA
This prep class is the best!
This prep class is the best! The people, and their support on FB coupled with the material could not be better! It was a great experience with some tough material. I would recommend the class to anyone taking the CPDT-KA.
