Racine Hyatt, CCFT CCM

November 30, 2011 By Cheryl Aguiar |

racinehyatt-biopicRacine is a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT) having graduated from the program developed by the University of Tennessee and FitPAWS; is also certified by the TreeTops Canine Massotherapy Program, in addition to having completed studies in the Canine Rehabilitation Institute’s. As the specialty of canine sports medicine and rehabilitation evolves, Racine’s extensive experience competing in various dog sports combined with a multi-dimensional education makes her uniquely qualified to provide instruction in Canine Fitness. Medical professionals believe it is easier to repair a fracture back into correct position than it is to restore normal joint function following strain/sprain injuries. Racine’s goal has always been to provide the missing link in dog sport training – fitness for injury prevention, which achieves the greater goal of a long, healthy career and a comfortable retirement while the dog ages with vitality. Racine’s programs will provide participants with an enlightened approach to exercising puppies, athletic sport dogs and active family companions. Her common sense approaches are designed to compliment and optimize the time already spent with dogs while training / competing or during a daily leash walk in order to do better, not more. Racine’s family always had dogs – Poodles, Retrievers and Newfoundlands. She has shared her life with Boxers and German Shepherds since 1991. It was her first Boxer, Meisha, who introduced Racine to the world of rehabilitation and ccft_logo5complimentary therapies as she recovered from an abusive situation and several surgeries to save her life. All of Racine’s dogs have played key roles as education partners, enhancing the skills she uses to benefit the lives of dogs and the people who love them. When she is not working (teaching online or delivering live, on-site seminars) she provides pro bono fitness programs for dogs in shelter care as they recover, regain confidence and await forever homes.
