Becoming a Canine Behavior Consultant-The Human in the Middle

March 22, 2018 By Cheryl Aguiar |

Canine Behavior Consultant online courseCanine Behavior Consultant online course

Purpose of Course: “Becoming a Behavior Consultant, the Human in the Middle” is an intensive 13 lesson course designed to give an in depth introduction to the scientific, ethical, theoretical and practical knowledge needed by a well-rounded professional animal behavior consultant. If you are attempting certification with CCPDT,  IAABC or NADOI, this course will be of great help aligning you with the principles of those organizations and preparing for their certification tests. If you are a serious student of animal behavior, dogs and the people they captivate, this course will open doors to a lifetime of ongoing learning.

Instructor: Chris Redenbach CDBC, CBCC-KA

Course Overview: The student will gain an understanding of the knowledge they need to be an expert canine behavior consultant. BehConsultant-Lisa BTestimonialThere are many aspects animal behaviorists study in a 4 or more year colleges education, such as ethics, scientific method, logic, human psychological dynamics, ethology, comparative psychology, normal/abnormal physiology and much more. Though this course will not cover everything a behaviorist studies and masters, we will provide a background in many of these in this course and set you up to further your studies in these areas as you desire. This course will give you exposure to this information and a good direction in filling in your knowledge as you become a canine behavior consultant.

BehConsultant-Anonymous-TestimonialThe final homework will require you to prepare a formal case study. This case study can be used as part of your application to the IAABC or NADOI (along with other requirements only you can provide). We want to see you take the knowledge gained from this course and become a Certified member of the IAABC or NADOI. It will also help prepare you for the CBCC-KA exam.Testi_BCBC-Harvey

I am grateful, and more proficient in my practice by taking this course.

Chris, this course even in the first few lessons has prepared me for working better with clients. The ethics, the rhetoric and elements, critical thinking (which I have from 35 years of nursing), logic, all the elements you have taught so far have made me a better person and growing behavior consultant. I went to my clients today (an aggressive case) and was better prepared because of your lessons. I know my limitations, yet I was able to help them, take a history (which is in the later lessons), make a plan, an after visit report and plan to visit them next week. Your lesson on snowball helped immensely, your lessons on all the above helped me succeed today. I am grateful, and more proficient in my practice by taking this course. Thank you both for teaching me. I will strive to be the best I can, acknowledge my limitations, continue to educate myself, reach out to more learned experts and (hopefully pass this course). bringing to light…how I should be handling myself professionally

I just wanted to thank you for offering this course that I'm currently taking, Becoming A Behavior Consultant: The Human in the Middle. It is kicking my butt and bringing to light so much that I have yet to learn and how I should be handling myself professionally. I feel like a complete novice all over again and as painful as that may be, it is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much!

“This course really challenged me”

Thank you, Chris!  And thank you for putting this course together, it has encouraged me to push myself further in various areas of study.  I think I had mentioned before that it is indeed an odd occurrence for a course to challenge me and this one really did.  I can't remember another time in my academic career where I needed any time extensions!  I am also very grateful for your feedback and encouraging words. Truly.
